We leave tomorrow and it seems like there's no preparation to be done. Maybe this is because we're driving and it feels like we're just running out to the store or making a trip across town. But, after mapping it out on google maps, we're actually going to be driving more than 3300 miles. Wow, that's a lot of driving!

It doesn't seem so far when you look at it on a small map. My guess is that there's a lot of empty country out there!
We are trying not to book hotels too far in advance so that we can skip towns or stay longer as desired. However, we are at least trying to book the next day. I gave Ellen the task of looking for hotels, and quickly discovered that she has high tastes for her accommodations. So, with that said, it looks like we'll be staying at the Hyatt on the shore of Lake Tahoe on the first night.
Other than that we're just doing some last minute packing and need to run out to get some snacks for the driving. The kids already put their playlists together on their ipods, so at least we have a lot of music to listen to along the way.
